New Years Eve
Colorado New Year’s Eve events are celebrated in downtowns, bars, and ski resorts through the state of Colorado. Colorado New Year’s Eve events say goodbye to what was and hello to what will be. These events are highlighted by fireworks, big name concert performances and massive firework displays throughout the state. Since the New Year celebration takes place during the busiest time of the ski and snowboard season, the resorts make a special effort to entertain their guests. In addition to the obligatory fireworks, shot off over the mountain, most resorts also feature the torch light parade. Skiers and snowboarders descend the mountain in formation with torches in hands. As they weave down the mountain, there’s usually fireworks exploding n the background. These parades and fireworks at resorts usually take place around 8pm so you don’t have to worry about staying up until midnight.
Downtown Denver hosts the grand daddy of Colorado New Year's Eve events blasts two massive fireworks shows at the 16th Street Mall. The early bird show takes place at 9pm and another one takes place at midnight. The show can be seen for miles around Denver, but the view at the 16th Street Mall is best where live DJs play tunes synched to the explosions and flashes.
Of course, other communities celebrate the night as well. All the bars and live music venues throughout Colorado also host local, regional and national talent.
