International Snow Sculpture Championships

Start Date:
January 20, 2020
End Date:
January 29, 2020

The International Snow Sculpting Competition is one of the premier winter events in the Colorado and this year, the sculptures will only be on display for one week. The sculptures are carved from 12 foot 20 ton blocks of snow and the constructions of those begins a week before. Snow is placed into the huge container then stamped down by volunteers. On Monday morning at 11am, artists line up on starting line then head to their block of snow as soon as the gun shot start give them the signal. Sculptors end their creative endeavor four days later on Friday at 10 am. Four hours later at 2pm, the awards ceremony gets underway and the winners are announced.
