Get up close and personal with a mythic menagerie of creatures this Halloween. Founded by Abraham Van Helsing & his supernatural daughters, The Van Helsing Society has operated in secret for over 100 years, researching, documenting, hunting and protecting supernatural creatures from around the world. For the first time ever, they are inviting everyday humans to a Halloween Gala where guests will encounter the peculiar and dangerous beasts of legend that make up their mythic menagerie. Hosted by the historic and haunted Lumber Baron Inn, guests can partake of a three course gourmet meal and curated cocktails as members of the society regale them with stories, specimens, demonstrations, and performances.
Presented by Audacious Theatre, this immersive event will feature creature puppets created by Kristin Dalleske (winner of The Dark Crystal Award from the Jim Henson Company) and Katy Williams (founder of the Rocky Mountain Puppet Slam). Van Helsing’s Daughters is an original work based on characters from Bram Stoker’s Dracula as well as international folklore. The show is written and directed by Ren Manley, who was the creator of last year’s sold out run of Lady Killers. It features Liz Porter, Bethany Richardson, Lisa Ann Gaylord, Lindsay Pierce, Yuko Wells, Logan Custer & Mike Holzer.
Audacious Theatre presents innovative and immersive theatrical events that engage all the senses. Westword’s Best of Denver named them the “Best Theatre to Pop Up in Unexpected Places” in 2018. This is their 4th Annual Halloween production.
Van Helsing’s Daughters will take place at The Lumber Baron Inn at 2555 W 37th Ave. in Denver from Oct. 19-31. Seating is limited wit a small amount of early-bird tickets available starting at only $15. For tickets and more information, visit www.audacioustheatre.com.
